SYMPHORCE/Ex-FREEDOM CALL Guitarist Launches DOWNSPIRIT

June 19, 2008

DOWNSPIRIT is the new project formed by Swiss guitarist Cdric "Cede" Dupont (SYMPHORCE, ex-FREEDOM CALL) in order to fulfill his longtime dream of playing in a band that is dedicated to the combination of blues and metal music.

Looking for a unique, motivated and ass-kicking lineup he found two guys he has known for several years but never had the opportunity to work with: Marcus Jrgens (ex-BRAINSTORM; vocals) and Aki Reissmann (rhythm guitar),both founding members of Germany's hard rock band PUMP.

According to a press release, "The main goal for DOWNSPIRIT is to play live as much as possible. From the countryside's shithole to the biggest stadiums of the world, whatever might be crossing their way for a longtermed future."

Currently based in Stuttgart, Germany, DOWNSPIRIT is searching a drummer and a bass player to round out the band's lineup. DOWNSPIRIT is looking for "passionate, motivated and cool musicians who know how to rock and have proper playing abilities."

Interested parties can contact the band at [email protected].

DOWNSPIRIT is in pre-production for its debut album, which is expected to be released in early 2009. Their songs are described as "a mixture of a modern metal sound of 2008 that goes along with the typical bluesy '80s hard rock. It's the combination of old blues roots that match perfectly with a modern-downtuning-guitar feel which might include some electroloops here and there."
